      Long-term stressful situations that can cause trauma include abuse, both physical and emotional, childhood neglect, war or refugee experiences or chronic illnesses or long-term hospitalizations.

    • Social and environmental factors
      Social and environmental factors can also cause trauma. These can include witnessing violence or disasters, living in an unsafe environment or losing a loved one due to unexpected circumstances.

  • Treating trauma is a process that often requires professional help. Trauma is a serious condition that can have a profound impact on a person's life. Psychodynamic Therapy: Focuses on understanding the unconscious influences of trauma on behavior and emotions.


    Medication

    Sometimes medication, such as antidepressants or anxiety medications, can be prescribed to relieve symptoms of trauma.
