Why participate in this retreat?

During the holidays, it is especially important to experience peace and harmony, especially after a period of great tension and stress as caused by the allowance affair. The Together Strong This Christmas retreat is designed especially for families who have been going through this difficult time.

The retreat will take place at Montgó Lifestyle, located in the beautiful hinterland of Costa Blanca, Spain. Here the aggrieved parents and children of the surcharge affair can participate in a fully catered program aimed at restoring emotional well-being, strengthening family bonds and building energy for the future.

What to expect.

At the New Start: Strong Together This Christmas Retreat, families receive customized care and guidance tailored to their personal needs. Jessica Badloe, founder of YES & you and herself a victim of the benefits affair, heads this special initiative for victims of the benefits affair. She understands better than anyone what is needed for peace and recovery. The program includes:

Family Therapy: Working with your child on communication and connection in a safe environment.

Emotional Support: Personal conversations and sessions with psychologists and therapists who assist you in processing the experiences.

Mindfulness and Yoga: Relaxing activities guided by experienced professionals that promote peace and calm.

Rest and Relaxation: Enjoy the serene surroundings of the Costa Blanca, with sea and mountain views that contribute to recovery.

The power of environment and recovery

Montgó Lifestyle's natural beauty plays an important role in the recovery process. The tranquility and fresh climate offer families the space to reconnect with themselves and each other after a difficult period. Here the healing process can take place in a natural and relaxed way.

Application and conditions

Registration for the retreat requires a referral from the community. The retreat must be consistent with the plan of action focused on recovery. When the participant is willing to make a commitment and the congregation agrees, an introductory meeting can be scheduled. The retreat is made possible by state funding so that families affected by the surcharge affair can participate. Sign up can be done at info@yes-you.nl or the YES & you website , where more information is available.

Jessica Badloe, initiator and herself duped by the benefits affair, recounts:

"I myself am in the midst of wrapping up everything that happened to me because of the allowance affair and asked myself, 'what do I need most right now?' Surely that was really taking some time for myself and my family. In the conversations I had with other victims, this often came up. Because I'm used to dealing with things, I thought: I'm just going to organize this for families who have been affected.

Together with my colleagues at YES & you, we brainstormed how best to make it happen. Soon we knew: it should take place in a nice climate, in a quiet, different environment, and we should collaborate with coaching and lifestyle professionals so that we could offer a customized program for everyone.

So we contacted several parties in Spain and with Montgó Lifestyle we immediately had a click. They were eager to contribute to the recovery of those affected by the allowance affair. Together we soon had a wonderful program ready.

What was still important was how all this was to be paid for. For this we entered into discussions with municipalities and the Tax Administration. There are actually no conditions set for this kind of initiative, and there is no possibility yet to participate in a tender, for example. But clearly everyone said, 'Just do it! It's a very nice initiative.' We will see whether individual municipalities are willing to use the available budget for duped people for this and whether it fits within personal plans of action.

And so this program was born, and we are now able to offer a program for over 20 families around the holidays."

Rogier Buningh, experience expert and director of Montgó Lifestyle, says:

"At Montgó Lifestyle, we normally focus on private care and offer an exclusive, personalized approach to recovery.

But when Jessica Badloe approached us with this particular initiative for those affected by the benefits affair, it felt like an opportunity for us to use our expertise more broadly. We believe that recovery, regardless of the situation, requires a holistic and safe environment, and that is what we would like to contribute to.

This retreat is a unique project, but the care and attention we provide remains at the same high level as always. It's about giving these families the peace and support they deserve."
